The latest to give in to the lure of TV shows is IPL woman Preity Zinta who will be hosting Guinness World Records - Ab India Todega, a desi version of the international show, produced by Miditech and to be aired later this year.

Hrithik Roshan turns to smaller screen to host a dance reality show

hrithik roshan dance

America’s popular TV show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ is making its way to India and when talking of a host to guide the show on its way to popularity, there could be no other name so apt than of Bollywood’s most talented dancer, Hrithik Roshan himself.
The whole world swears by the dancing skills of Hrithik. In the words of Flexy Stu and Loren L, Hrithik’s choreographer for ‘Kites’, “Hrithik is a perfectionist and a workaholic; he would call us late at night to come down from out hotel, get into his car and meet up to listen to the track he did. He’s really excited about the music and he’s really striving to be authentic. A lot of actors in Bollywood try to take short cuts; he’s real the whole time.”
While Hrithik will anchor the show, Farah Khan will be one of the judges. Its also rumored that Hrithik will be paid a whopping Rs. 2 crore to play the host!
With this, one more Bollywood star gives in to the temptation of the reality shows on the smaller screen…….

Imraan-Avantika & Neelam-Sameer: Work puts honeymoon on hold

Well, the glamorous and much awaited wedding of Imraan Khan with Avantika is finally over now but sadly, the couple will have to wait for their honeymoon trip as Imraan has professional commitments to look after first. The couple had earlier planned for a short three-day honeymoon trip to Hawaii or another tropical island but due to Imraan packed schedules with the dates of Karan Johar’s ‘Short Term Shaadi’ and Yash Raj’s ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, the honeymoon plans had to be cancelled. Not to mention here that Avantika is not too pleased with the state of affairs, especially since Imraan won’t be free till June. To make up for it, Imran has now promised to make it up to her by taking short trips around Mumbai whenever possible.

Another Bollywood couple had to let go of their honeymoon plans due to work commitment.
Neelam and Sameer Soni, too, have decided to wait for their honeymoon trip as Sameer has a couple of projects to take care of. They are thinking of going out of the country in the end of March.

Love is Not Enough

A lot of people wonder what happened to the sexual revolution, especially around Valentine's Day. In a lot of homes today, the sexual temperature feels more like the 50's than the 70's.
Since I have a bird's eye view of this phenomenon, I thought I'd offer up my observations. After all, both men and women tell me their sexual woes all day long. A lot of people, and maybe therapists most of all, make the mistake of thinking that all you need for good sex is love.
When it comes to desire, love is not enough. Desire operates by its own natural laws and the chemistry fizzles if you don't obey them. What I see time after time, is that married people forget that the path to sex is--seduction.
Seduction Tips for Men
Flirt a Little - What do women find seductive? First, for women, seduction starts in the mind, not the body. You wife needs to feel cherished and special. And they need some pampering and playfulness, a zone of relaxation. Flirting, in other words. It's hard for her to switch from being a responsible adult, taking care of the chores and kids, to making love, unless she first switches her mindset.
Remember how you went about it in the early days of your relationship? I doubt very much that you initiated sex by just reaching over and grabbing your girlfriend when she was trying to fall asleep. But a lot of you seem to be using this approach now.
Seduction Through Housework - Housework is directly linked to sex in the mind of a woman, and not in a good way. You probably know that your wife has some resentment over you not helping enough with the housework. Instead of getting into interminable discussions about what's "fair," look at it this way: Feeling like the maid and feeling like a sex kitten are mutually exclusive. Ignore this truth at your own risk.
Also, a messy house is an anti- aphrodisiac for a lot of women. That's why they love to go away for romantic weekends. Relaxing in a beautiful room they didn't have to clean-now that's seductive!
Finesse It - Once you are in bed, do you know what to do? I'm not trying to be harsh, but I'm sorry, the plain truth is that a lot of you don't. This is not completely your fault.
Women are less demanding about the quality of sex in the beginning and you don't need to be as skilled. They get caught up in the romance and the newness of it all, and that makes sex fun and exciting.
But sex with you is not new anymore. Your wife has a mortgage and kids, and maybe more concerns about her health and body image. You have a lot more competition for her attention. You've got to really know what pleases her to keep her interested.
Maybe you never got into the habit of talking to each other about what you like. This is why a lot of couples are out of synch in bed. And it can be hard to start that conversation if it's been off the table for years. But you don't have to make a big deal out of it. Just a question here or there, and you can get to know each other all over again.
Seduction Tips for Women
Take It Seriously - If you're like a lot of women, you've started to treat sex as though it's optional. It's not. Taking the 30,000 foot view for a minute, marriage has taken a lot of different forms, but the one constant you'll find in all eras and cultures is that marriage is a sexual relationship.
You may be too tired to be interested. You may feel distant because of conflicts between the two of you. You may be completely absorbed in being a mom. But just because you don't have the same desire as your husband doesn't mean sex isn't important to you, too.
If you stop having sex, the quality of your relationship will change. It loses some of its color and warmth. Couples who come to see me say they feel like roommates or like co-presidents of a small corporation. Life together feels banal. It can make the enormous emotional work of marriage feel not worth it.
Respect His Sexuality - It's no secret that men usually want more sex than women. And they approach it differently. Stress does not neutralize the male libido. As my husband once said, "If men gave birth, they'd want to have more sex after they had the baby, not less." And they don't always need to feel close before they have sex. They see sex as a way to feel closer.
This doesn't make men insensitive brutes or some kind of lower life form, but women often act like it does. In fairness, that's because we have had to deal with insensitive brutes. Very few of us come to marriage without having been treated like a sex object.
Most of us have some experience with the classic jerk who "only wants one thing." Or worse-a lot of us have been abused. This makes it hard for us to distinguish between a man taking advantage of us and a man having a different sexual response. But making that distinction is crucial.
Men feel really hurt when women show contempt for their natural way of being. And they feel hurt when they're not wanted. They might not speak up about it. A lot of times they just go underground. This could be one of the reasons for that withdrawal that drives you crazy.
Be a Little Selfish - A lot of guys tell me they are trying very hard to figure out how to please their wives, but the women just won't talk. You might be a giver, who tends to everyone's needs except your own. And sex feels like just one more way you take care of your husband.
So speak up a little. You know what you like. You know what your body needs. Maybe you think your husband isn't interested in your needs. It's possible. But maybe he just needs a little coaching.
I'm willing to bet you neglect your sensual needs outside the bedroom as well. That can put a damper on your desire. Ours is a very practical culture. We forget that care and feeding of our senses adds richness to our lives, whether it's with food, wine, scents, massage, or the arts.

It never hurts to ask

This is one of those cases where you’ve got nothing to lose if you make a special request, so it absolutely is worth asking the tour company, cruise line, or hotel/resort whether they’ll drop their single supplement fee for you.
Now, if you’re traveling at the height of the tourist season and visiting a popular spot, you’re not likely to hear a “yes” to that question (they’d be polite to at least wait until they hang up the phone to laugh out loud at the very idea). But if you’re traveling in the off-season, or to a less-visited place, or last-minute – it’s a good idea to ask. Maybe the cruise isn’t as full as they wanted it to be. Maybe the tour is one person shy of being able to actually go on the trip. Maybe the hotel or resort would rather have the room occupied for a lower rate than sit empty for the weekend. You just never know, which is why it’s good to ask.
By all means, however, ask nicely. And don’t get your panties in a knot if they say no. Know whether the single supplement is the only barrier to you taking the trip, and be prepared to walk away from it if they won’t back down.

Bring a buddy

Suggesting that you bring a friend on your solo trip may sound like it’s defeating the purpose of taking a solo trip, but for some people this might be a good solution. There are a couple ways this could work.
Let’s say you’re on a long-term trip, and you see an organized tour to Petra or a short cruise around the Greek Islands that you want to join as part of your itinerary. Why not ask a friend or family member back home – someone you miss and haven’t seen in awhile – to come join you for just that tour or cruise? Having a friend come with you for a week-long tour helps you avoid the single supplement, enjoy the company of a pal, and then go on your merry solo way afterward.
For those of you who aren’t on a long-term trip and who see a tour or cruise you’d like to take, you can bring a friend and still get solo time on the trip – provided you choose the right friend. This is where knowing your friend’s travel personality is key. Pair up with another independent-minded soul and you’ll be able to avoid the single supplement, split up during the day if you want to do different things, and still have someone to swap stories with over dinner.

True Blood Stars Get Truly Bloody (And Naked) For Rolling Stone

Quick, when I mention True Blood, what are the first two things you think of? Mysteries and nuanced character development, of course. But probably fifth or sixth down that list might be, oh, say, sex and gore.
If you do like the naked stars and copious amounts of colored corn syrup used on the show, then you’ll love the current cover of Rolling Stone, which features famous musical artists Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard posing in their starkers, slathered in the goopy stuff. By which I mean blood. I call blood “the goopy stuff.” FYI.
There’s also an article with words or something, in which the magazine that used to cover the now dead music industry talks to the stars of the show, including this choice tidbit from Moyer:
"If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn't one before. It's a de-virginization — breaking the hymen, creating blood and then drinking the virginal blood. And there's something sharp, the fang, which is probing and penetrating and moving into it. So that's pretty sexy. I think that makes vampires attractive."
You know, it’s funny, but a lot of people think you break your neck-hymen when you first get bit by a vampire, but really, it can break if you’re, say, riding a horse, or the first time you shove a tampon into your neck. You know, regular stuff.
Moyer continues to explain in the article how werewolves are like a penis because when they get excited, they get bigger and more violent, and how vaginas are like a Cthulu monster, because he doesn’t understand them and they look scary.
Skarsgard, on the other hand, reveals in the magazine about music, which only needs to be sold in cars to complete the hat trick of dying industries, that if you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of his little man, you may be in luck:
"I don't want a sock around it, that feels ridiculous. If we’re naked in the scene, then I’m naked. I’ve always been that way."
...Says the most confident man in the world.
Meanwhile, on TV, True Blood is hoping to add a third African-American character next season, because they’ve ran out of people on the show who can be chained up, tortured and forgotten about by all the white characters because they’re all too busy whining and having sex.
True Blood is currently on HBO, and has been nominated for several Emmy Awards. No, I’m not joking.

Is Your Woman A Cunnilingus Virgin?

passionate womanIs your woman a cunnilingus virgin? Lucky you, it's your sexual duty to initiate her in the erotic joys of cunnilingus!
This may come as a surprise to you but not all women come with full knowledge and acceptance of cunnilingus or 'being eaten out'. From a woman's point of view, oral sex is often a matter of trust, i.e., opening up her most 'scared place' for 'close scrutiny' to you. In fact, believe it or not, there are plenty of women out there who are more open to sexual intercourse than cunnilingus. They claim that the latter is a more 'private affair'. I know, go figure.
If your partner is a cunnilingus virgin, don't lose hope end assume she's deadest against it. For all you know, she's simply waiting for the right guy to show her the high sexual pleasure that cunnilingus brings.
How to Persuade Your Partner to Engage in Cunnilingus
Discuss, not dictate.
The wrong approach to take is to STATE that she 'needs' to experience cunnilingus. For one, you probably don't even know why she's not into being muff dived yet so don't assume anything. Instead, talk to her about it. Ask if she has any negative impressions or bad experiences regarding cunnilingus so that you're better able to address whatever it is that's eating her up (pun intended).
Also, showing that you're willing to discuss and understand her shows your caring side, which in turn makes her trust you more, which in turn makes her more open to the thought of you going down on her.
Try, not force.
As a cunnilingus virgin, it's understandable that she may be a bit squeamish about the whole affair the first time. Don't expect compete and wild abandon here. And don't force her to feel great about it either by ramming your tongue deeper into her or propelling it like helicopter blades. You might hurt her, making her think cunnilingus is not pleasurable at all!
Also, don't be offended by immediate reaction she has. For example, here's a story from one of my clients, let's just call him Jack.
So Jack was eating his lady out. Since she was new to cunnilingus, her emotions about all the new sexual feelings where everywhere. Her physical response to this was to bring her thighs tightly together that's right, squeezing Jack's head between her legs! Anyway, Jack understood this so he GENTLY pried her legs apart and licked gentler to make her relax.
Can you imagine if, feeling a bit of pain, Jack drastically pulled his head away? That would rudely abruptly her sexual pleasure and might even make her think he doesn't like eating her out after all.
Explore, not just apply.
Although she may be a cunnilingus virgin, it doesn't mean that techniques that worked for your previous partners will work on her. For one, some women, like it rough, others don't. Some women like being finger fucked while being licked, others don't. And so on.
So for her first time, just be gentle and go with the flow. Be attuned with her body and its reactions instead of trying to apply what you think is a great cunnilingus formula.
Encourage trust, not misgiving.
Again, since this is her first time with cunnilingus, it's important to start gently so that you earn her trust. If you go down there like Rambo, and chances are she's not ready for that at all, she will instinctively assume that she'll experience some sort of pain or discomfort. As a result, she will not be completely open to the whole cunnilingus thing anymore.
Also, at the very least, she may not feel much sexual pleasure at all, enabling her to incorrectly assume that cunnilingus is no big deal.
Make it all about HER pleasure.
Try not to be the great Casanova as you go down on her or revel in the fact that you're her sexual teacher, and she your helpless sex student who wants nothing more than to accept your moves.
Sometimes, men can get so full in their heads about how they're such great lovers that the focus is all wrong. So this time, make it all about her. Her body, her reactions, her sexual pleasure. If she achieves an orgasm during cunnilingus, GREAT but it's not your goal.
Your goal is to simply let her know how sexually enriching cunnilingus is and that it's another way you can enrich your relationship sexually and otherwise.

Early History of Flight

Around 400 BC - Flight in China
The discovery of the kite that could fly in the air by the Chinese started humans thinking about flying. Kites were used by the Chinese in religious ceremonies. They built many colorful kites for fun, also. More sophisticated kites were used to test weather conditions. Kites have been important to the invention of flight as they were the forerunner to balloons and gliders.
Humans Try to Fly like Birds
For many centuries, humans have tried to fly just like the birds and have studied the flight of birds. Wings made of feathers or light weight wood have been attached to arms to test their ability to fly. The results were often disastrous as the muscles of the human arms are not like a birds and cannot move with the strength of a bird.
Hero and the Aeolipile
Drawing of Aeolipile Created by HeroThe ancient Greek engineer, Hero of Alexandria, worked with air pressure and steam to create sources of power. One experiment that he developed was the aeolipile which used jets of steam to create rotary motion.
Hero mounted a sphere on top of a water kettle. A fire below the kettle turned the water into steam, and the gas traveled through pipes to the sphere. Two L-shaped tubes on opposite sides of the sphere allowed the gas to escape, which gave a thrust to the sphere that caused it to rotate. The importance of the aeolipile is that it marks the start of engine invention - engine created movement will later prove essential in the history of flight.
1485 Leonardo da Vinci - The Ornithopter and the Study of Flight.
Leonardo da Vinci's OrnithopterLeonardo da Vinci made the first real studies of flight in the 1480's. He had over 100 drawings that illustrated his theories on bird and mechanical flight. The drawings illustrated the wings and tails of birds, ideas for man carrying machines, and devices for the testing of wings.
The Ornithopter flying machine was never actually created. It was a design that Leonardo da Vinci created to show how man could fly. The modern day helicopter is based on this concept. Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks on flight were reexamined in the 19th century by aviation pioneers.
1783 - Joseph and Jacques Montgolfier - The Flight of the First Hot Air Balloon
Colorful Picture of One of Montgolfier's Hot Air BalloonsThe brothers, Joseph Michel and Jacques Etienne Montgolfier, were inventors of the first hot air balloon. They used the smoke from a fire to blow hot air into a silk bag. The silk bag was attached to a basket. The hot air then rose and allowed the balloon to be lighter-than-air.
In 1783, the first passengers in the colorful balloon were a sheep, rooster and duck. It climbed to a height of about 6,000 feet and traveled more than one mile.
After this first success, the brothers began to send men up in hot air balloons. The first manned flight was on November 21, 1783, the passengers were Jean-Francois Pilatre de Rozier and Francois Laurent.
1799-1850's - George Cayley - Gliders
A picture of a Glider by George CayleySir George Cayley is considered the father of aerodynamics. Cayley experimented with wing design, distinguished between lift and drag, formulated the concepts of vertical tail surfaces, steering rudders, rear elevators, and air screws. George Cayley worked to discover a way that man could fly. Cayley designed many different versions of gliders that used the movements of the body to control. A young boy, whose name is not known, was the first to fly one of Cayley's gliders, the first glider capable of carrying a human.
Drawing of a George Cayley glider with a tailFor over 50 years, George Cayley made improvements to his gliders. Cayley changed the shape of the wings so that the air would flow over the wings correctly. Cayley designed a tail for the gliders to help with the stability. He tried a biplane design to add strength to the glider. George Cayley also recognized that there would be a need for machine power if the flight was to be in the air for a long time.
George Cayley wrote "On Ariel Navigation" that showed that a fixed wing aircraft with a power system for propulsion, and a tail to assist in the control of the airplane, would be the best way to allow man to fly.

THE INVENTION OF AIR BALLON

In 1783, the most popular man in Europe was the United States ambassador to France, Benjamin Franklin. Franklin with his calm eyes peering through the bifocals of his own invention, projected great learning and fame and captivated the people's imagination. He was always leaving his post at the embassy to watch the trials of a new invention called the air balloon.

First Air Balloon Flights

On November 21 1783, Benjamin Franklin arrived at the gardens of the King's hunting lodge in the Bois de Boulogne, on the outskirts of Paris, to witness an experiment. Two daring Frenchmen, Pilatre de Rozier of the Royal Academy and his friend the Marquis d'Arlandes, were planning to ascend in a Montgolfier air balloon, the first men in history to do so. The crowds gathered to witness the event opened a lane for Benjamin Franklin to pass.

At six minutes to two the aeronauts entered the car of their balloon; and, at a height of two hundred and seventy feet, waved their hats and saluted the applauding spectators. Then the wind carried them away towards Paris. About half a mile from the starting point, the balloon began to descend over the River Seine; but when they fed the fire under their sack of hot air with chopped straw they rose to the elevation of five hundred feet. Safely across the river they dampened the fire with a sponge and made a gentle descent in Paris.
At five o'clock that afternoon, at the King's Chateau in the Bois de Boulogne, the members of the Royal Academy signed a memorial of the event. One of the spectators asked Benjamin Franklin, "What does Doctor Franklin conceive to be the use of this new invention?" "What is the use of a new-born child?" was Franklin's reply.

Montgolfier Bothers, Jacques Charles

The invention of the air balloon was only five months old, however, there were already two types of craft: the original Montgolfier bothers balloon, or fire balloon, inflated with hot air, and a modification by Jacques Charles, inflated with hydrogen gas.

Like the Moon

The mass of the French people did not welcome the presence of giant air balloons above them. French soldiers were often ordered to protect the balloons. The fear of the people was so great that the Government issued a proclamation, explaining the invention that stated that anyone seeing a globe, like the moon in an eclipse, should be aware that it was only a bag made of taffeta or light canvas covered with paper and could not possibly cause any harm and would someday serve society."
Benjamin Franklin wrote a description of the Montgolfier air balloon to Sir Joseph Banks, President of the Royal Society of London:
"Its bottom was open and in the middle of the opening was fixed a kind of basket grate, in which faggots and sheaves of straw were burnt. The air, rarefied in passing through this flame, rose in the balloon, swelled out its sides, and filled it.
The persons, who were placed in the gallery made of wicker and attached to the outside near the bottom, had each of them a port through which they could pass sheaves of straw into the grate to keep up the flame and thereby keep the balloon full.
One of these courageous philosophers, the Marquis d'Arlandes, did me the honor to call upon me in the evening after the experiment, with Montgolfier, the very ingenious inventor. I was happy to see him safe. He informed me that they lit gently, without the least shock, and the balloon was very little damaged."
Benjamin Franklin also wrote in his journals how the competition between the Montgolfier brothers and George Cayley had hastened the progress of the air balloon. Franklin saw air balloons as a discovery of great importance, one that might possibly give a new turn to human affairs by convincing heads of state of the folly of war. However, Benjamin Franklin urged the inventors to immediately invent a way to steer the new air balloons, which went in the direction of the prevailing wind.

Who Invented the Umbrella?

The basic umbrella was invented over four thousand years ago. We have seen evidence of umbrellas in the ancient art and artifacts of Egypt, Assyria, Greece, and China.
These ancient umbrellas or parasols, were first designed to provide shade from the sun. The Chinese were the first to waterproof their umbrellas for use as rain protection. They waxed and lacquered their paper parasols in order to use them for rain.
The word "umbrella" comes from the Latin root word "umbra", meaning shade or shadow. Starting in the 16th century the umbrella became popular to the western world, especially in the rainy weather of northern Europe. At first it was considered only an accessory suitable for women. Then the Persian traveler and writer, Jonas Hanway (1712-86), carried and used an umbrella publicly in England for thirty years, he popularized umbrella use among men. English gentleman often referred to their umbrellas as a "Hanway."

James Smith and Sons

The first all umbrella shop was called "James Smith and Sons". The shop opened in 1830, and is still located at 53 New Oxford Street in London, England. The early European umbrellas were made of wood or whalebone and covered with alpaca or oiled canvas. The artisans made the curved handles for the umbrellas out of hard woods like ebony, and were well paid for their efforts.

English Steels Company

In 1852, Samuel Fox invented the steel ribbed umbrella design. Fox also founded the "English Steels Company", and claimed to have invented the steel ribbed umbrella as a way of using up stocks of farthingale stays, steel stays used in women's corsets. After that, compact collapsible umbrellas were the next major technical innovation in umbrella manufacture, over a century later.

There are many reasons to visit a country – the food, the scenery, the sites and the weather. While you’re there though, one of the things that can strike you the most is the lifestyle, and if the place has a great vibe such as the European lifestyle then this can really add to a holiday and what helps make you feel free and relaxed. Furthermore it can be very interesting learning how different countries live their lives and how the European lifestyle differs from your own.
Of course being a large continent, the European lifestyle varies depending on which country you’re in. The European lifestyle in the South of France differs greatly for example to the European lifestyle thought of in England. As a rule though there is a general European lifestyle that most people think of when they think about the continent.
This ‘typical’ European lifestyle is a lifestyle that’s highly laid back, doesn’t work to hard and enjoys the finer things in life. Perhaps the seminal area for this is the South of France which exemplifies
the European lifestyle to a T. Here the weather is warm, and those who live there tend to make the most of it by enjoying sitting outside in the evenings, taking siestas, and generally not over exerting themselves in the heat. At the same time a big part of European lifestyle here is based around the enjoyment of fine food and drink, and vineyards play a large role in the lifestyle. Someone from the South of France will likely have great taste and enjoy drinking wine in fancy bars by the sea while the sun comes up, enjoying this slower paced existence by more fully enjoying moments and tastes. The licensing laws then support this European lifestyle by allowing residents to sit out in the sun drinking throughout the day and late at night when they’re not at work, which seems to combat and negate the binge-drinking culture of many other countries. And all this relaxation and enjoyment creates a very friendly and playful attitude that’s a joy for tourists.
Countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece are then just as laid back in their European lifestyle, enjoying good music and good food and charming quaint architecture. In Greece you can just as easily enjoy Calamari in a little back street restaurant in the sun while watching cats clamber around on the cobbles.
While not all of mainland Europe enjoys such a climate, a similar European lifestyle tends to prevail even where it’s cooler in Germany, Poland or Holland. In Germany they too have a playful outlook on life and charming thatched houses and other traditions, while even Poland – known for their hard grafting – have a fairly relaxed attitude the rest of the time and a fondness for warming foods and vodka. And then there’s Holland which is famous for its laid back European attitude.

The Invention of the Telephone

In the 1870s, two inventors Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell both independently designed devices that could transmit speech electrically (the telephone).

Both men rushed their respective designs to the patent office within hours of each other, Alexander Graham Bell patented his telephone first. Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell entered into a famous legal battle over the invention of the telephone, which Bell won.
The telegraph and telephone are both wire-based electrical systems, and Alexander Graham Bell's success with the telephone came as a direct result of his attempts to improve the telegraph.
Alexander Graham Bell
When Bell began experimenting with electrical signals, the telegraph had been an established means of communication for some 30 years. Although a highly successful system, the telegraph, with its dot-and-dash Morse code, was basically limited to receiving and sending one message at a time. Bell's extensive knowledge of the nature of sound and his understanding of music enabled him to conjecture the possibility of transmitting multiple messages over the same wire at the same time. Although the idea of a multiple telegraph had been in existence for some time, Bell offered his own musical or harmonic approach as a possible practical solution. His "harmonic telegraph" was based on the principle that several notes could be sent simultaneously along the same wire if the notes or signals differed in pitch.

Alexander Graham Bell - Talk with Electricity

By October 1874, Bell's research had progressed to the extent that he could inform his future father-in-law, Boston attorney Gardiner Greene Hubbard, about the possibility of a multiple telegraph. Hubbard, who resented the absolute control then exerted by the Western Union Telegraph Company, instantly saw the potential for breaking such a monopoly and gave Bell the financial backing he needed. Bell proceeded with his work on the multiple telegraph, but he did not tell Hubbard that he and Thomas Watson, a young electrician whose services he had enlisted, were also exploring an idea that had occurred to him that summer - that of developing a device that would transmit speech electrically. While Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Watson worked on the harmonic telegraph at the insistent urging of Hubbard and other backers, Bell nonetheless met in March 1875 with Joseph Henry, the respected director of the Smithsonian Institution, who listened to Bell's ideas for a telephone and offered encouraging words. Spurred on by Henry's positive opinion, Bell and Watson continued their work. By June 1875 the goal of creating a device that would transmit speech electrically was about to be realized. They had proven that different tones would vary the strength of an electric current in a wire. To achieve success they therefore needed only to build a working transmitter with a membrane capable of varying electronic currents and a receiver that would reproduce these variations in audible frequencies.

The Invention of Television

Television was not invented by a single inventor, instead many people working together and alone over the years, contributed to the evolution of television.

1862 First Still Image Transferred

Abbe Giovanna Caselli invents his Pantelegraph and becomes the first person to transmit a still image over wires.

1873

Scientists May and Smith experiment with selenium and light, this reveals the possibilty for inventors to transform images into electronic signals.

1876

Boston civil servant George Carey was thinking about complete television systems and in 1877 he put forward drawings for what he called a selenium camera that would allow people to see by electricity. Eugen Goldstein coins the term "cathode rays" to describe the light emitted when an electric current was forced through a vacuum tube.

Late 1870s

Scientists and engineers like Paiva, Figuier, and Senlecq were suggesting alternative designs for Telectroscopes.

1880

Inventors Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Edison theorize about telephone devices that transmit image as well as sound. Bell's Photophone used light to transmit sound and he wanted to advance his device for image sending.
George Carey builds a rudimentary system with light-sensitive cells.

1881

Sheldon Bidwell experiments with his Telephotography that was similiar to Bell's Photophone.

1884 18 Lines of Resolution

Paul Nipkow sends images over wires using a rotating metal disk technology calling it the electric telescope with 18 lines of resolution.

1900 And We Called It Television

At the World's Fair in Paris, the first International Congress of Electricity was held. That is where Russian Constantin Perskyi made the first known use of the word "television."

The Invention of the Wheel

The wheel is everywhere on all our cars, trains, planes, machines, wagons, and most factory and farm equipment.
What could we move without wheels? But as important as the wheel is as an invention, we don't know who exactly made the first wheel.
The oldest wheel found in archeological excavations was discovered in what was Mesopotamia and is believed to be over fifty-five hundred years old.
The following steps and developments took place to invent a functioning wheel, more or less in this order:

This is Heavy

Humans realized that heavy objects could be moved easier if something round, for example a fallen tree log, was placed under it and the object rolled over it.

The Sledge

Humans also realized a way to move heavy objects, with an invention archeologists call the sledge. Logs or sticks were placed under an object and used to drag the heavy object, like a sled and a wedge put together.

Log Roller

Humans thought to use the round logs and a sledge together. Humans used several logs or rollers in a row, dragging the sledge over one roller to the next.

Inventing a Primitive Axle

With time the sledges started to wear grooves into the rollers and humans noticed that the grooved rollers actually worked better, carrying the object further. This was simple physics, if the grooves had a smaller circumference than the unworn parts of the roller, then dragging the sledge in the grooves required less energy to create a turning motion but created a greater distance covered when the larger part of the log roller turned. The log roller was becoming a wheel, humans cut away the wood between the two inner grooves to create what is called an axle.

First Carts

Wooden pegs were used to fix the sledge, so that when it rested on the rollers it did not move, but allowed the axle to turn in-between the pegs, the axle and wheels now created all the movement. These were the first carts. Improvements to the cart were made. The pegs were replaced with holes carved into the cart frame, the axle was placed through the hole. This made it necessary for the larger wheels and thinner axle to be separate pieces. The wheels were attached to both sides of the axle.

Fixed Axles Make a Functional & Successful Wheel

Next, the fixed axle was invented, where the axle does not turn but is solidly connected to the cart frame. Only the wheels did the revolving by being fitted onto the axle in a way that allowed the wheels to rotate. Fixed axles made for stable carts that could turn corners better. By this time the wheel can be considered a complete invention.

How to Make Your PC as Fast as the Day You Bought It

One of the most frustrating things in life is a slow computer.
Every few years, we buy an expensive new PC and love how fast it starts up, runs programs, and loads websites.  Inevitably though, it starts to slow down until eventually we are pulling our hair out waiting for it to do routine tasks.
Why is this?  It turns out the answer is actually quite simple and you don't even need to be "technical" to understand the causes and solutions.
The good news: It's not the computer hardware that's the problem.  In most cases, the hardware you have is perfectly capable of being restored to its original glory and kept in fast running condition with minimal effort.
Rather, the problem lies with changes that occur to the PC's software.  The two most common causes of slowdown (along with easy solutions) are:
The most common problem: registery errors
Every time you (or your kids) load a program, game, or file, your PC's software registery is updated with new instructions needed to operate that item.  However, when the item is removed, these instructions usually remain on your PC.  Every time you run your computer it tries to execute these instructions but, because the related program can't be found, it causes a registry error.  Your PC is doing a lot more work than it should be and the result is a significantly slower computer.
One of the best ways to manage this is with a neat little tool from a Seattle based company called the Advanced Registry Optimizer 2010 (ARO).  This program scans, identifies, and fixes registry errors--resulting in a computer that's a lot more like it was when you first bought it.  On top of the amazing results it offers, it's so easy to install and use that it was recently awarded a coveted 4.5 star rating (out of 5) by CNET's editorial staff.
You can now get a free working version of the software which will quickly scan your entire PC and identify all of the registry errors that may be bogging it down.  The free version eliminates the first 100 errors, and if you have more errors that you want to clean-up or want to set the program to run on a regular basis (which is recommended), you can easily upgrade to the full version for just $29.95.  After that, registry errors will no longer be a problem.

Spyware and viruses
Spyware and viruses are software programs that are loaded on your computer without your knowledge or permission.  They have various purposes, including:
  • Changing the default search engine in your browser.
  • Tracking your Web surfing habits and showing you targeted advertising.
  • Using your email program to send out spam to other email addresses.
  • Stealing your personal information.
Most spyware and viruses get onto our computers through files that we download from the Internet or as attachments to emails.  They tend to take up a lot of computing power and, as a result, will significantly slow down your computer.
The simple rule of thumb to follow is to never download any free software programs from companies you do not know and trust, especially screensavers, emoticons, and the like.  In addition, you should never open any attachment to an email unless you are 100 percent certain you know and trust the sender.  In addition, make sure you have a good anti-virus/spyware removal software running at all times.

Kellie Maines is ridiculous

I was fapping my way through Stephen’s archive of hot, half naked bitches, when I came across this little gem. Meet Kellie Maines. Don’t hate,  she is probably doing this to put her through med school.  She’ll be making all of the “guy sites” take her pics down once the medical field starts doing background checks, only to find these.
I had some girl message me the other day demanding that I take her pics off of the site because apparently she was trying to get a big girl job.  Unfortunately, she was still dumber than a bag of shit, and didn’t realize it was just one of those little thumbnails that you see at the bottom of our posts.  The thumbnail was linking to another site, and was taken down over a year ago, but this dumb bitch was seeing cached pages of her being a whore, and started throwing a fit.  It was actually a pretty funny “back and forth” email thread.  I will try to find it sometime.

Woman Hires Man To Rape Her Daughter So She Can Become A Grandma

No this isn’t an Onion article, although we wish it were. A 53 year old woman (who will go unnamed to protect the identity of her daughter) has been arrested for plotting a rape so that she could become a grandmother.

Apparently, the 24 year old girl had shown no signs of wanting to become pregnant, so her mother decided to take matters into her own hands.  She hired 33 year old Finus Fetnadi to rape her daughter outside of Burgersfort (South Africa), and instructed him not to use a condom.
Both Fetnadi and the mother were arrested after the daughter was raped and came to the authorities.  The poor daughter must now wait to see if she’s actually pregnant.
Wow mom, great job emotionally butt f*cking your daughter for the rest of her life.

47: It is golden time for Tanushree Dutta

Gitanjali group unveiled a new collection called the ‘Wimbledon Jewellery‘, which includes a diamond studded tennis ball, which will be presented to winner of the men’s Wimbledon champion of 2007.
The ball from the Tesoro range of the group, which was unveiled by Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta, is a fine blend of 24-carat gold, studded with diamonds and valued at approximately Rs 35 lakhs.
Tanushree has also been chosen the brand ambassador for the group. Though the actress does not reveal much about the deal, she surely beams, “It’s an honor to be considered as brand ambassador. Previously I was busy establishing myself in Bollywood. But right now, it’s the right time to get into endorsing products.”

46: Nudity is ‘Hisss-tory’…. Welcome the all covered Mallika Sherawat!!

Well, we all know that nudity and boldness did not give the push to big mouthed and big busted bombshell Mallika Sherawat’s career. So, the sex kitten is trying other avenues instead. Transported back to Bollywood from Hollywood, Mallika is trying her hand with judging the reality show ‘Chak Dhoom Dhoom 2’. She has also signed up for an item number ‘Razia Gundo Mein Phas Gayee’ in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Thank You’ for free and now, the latest one is that she will be seen all covered up and in a deglamorised avatar in her next, Case No 99 sharing screen space with big names like Nana Patekar and Naseeruddin Shah.
Scripted by Dilip Shukla of Dabangg fame and directed by debutant director Praful Parekh, the film goes on floors in March. Nana Patekar will be seen in the role of a CBI officer in this suspense thriller about an insurance scam of 100 crores.
The producer of the film, C G Patel, confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we have signed Mallika and paid her the signing amount, but some formalities are yet to be finalised. Nana, who is a great friend, is also on board and is keenly supervising the project. We are still in talks with Naseerji.”
Patel also stressed on the fact that Mallika had absolutely no hesitations in signing a role which was in stark contrast to the roles she has played earlier. He said, “In fact she loved the script. She has a very powerful role and strong dialogue with Nana. People will be surprised to see her in the film.”
So, the dare bare act is ‘Hisss-tory’ for Mallika now??

45: Bionics

Etymology: from bi (as in “life”) + onics (as in “electronics”); the study of mechanical systems that function like living organisms or parts of living organisms

Amanda Kitts is mobbed by four- and five-year-olds as she enters the classroom at the Kiddie Kottage Learning Center near Knoxville, Tennessee. "Hey kids, how're my babies today?" she says, patting shoulders and ruffling hair. Slender and energetic, she has operated this day-care center and two others for almost 20 years. She crouches down to talk to a small girl, putting her hands on her knees.
"The robot arm!" several kids cry.
"You remember this, huh?" says Kitts, holding out her left arm. She turns her hand palm up. There is a soft whirring sound. If you weren't paying close attention, you'd miss it. She bends her elbow, accompanied by more whirring.

44: Jacqueline Fernandez hotter than ever before in ‘Murder 2′

Well, when Mallika Sherawat went bold with her 17 kisses in ‘Khwahish’, there was buzz everywhere. However, her record for 17 kisses has been broken by Aditi Rao in ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’. Again, when Sherawat gave super hot steamy scenes in ‘Murder’, critics went berserk with the hotness quotient. Now, once again Mallika seems to be falling back as reports have it that Jacqueline Fernandez shedding more clothes than ever before in ‘Murder 2’ is all set to take sensuality to newer levels.
‘Murder 2’ has the Sri Lankan beauty play a centre spread model for a Playboy-ish men’s magazine. Not to mention here that the role demand that the actress shed her inhibitions and clothes too.
Director Mohit Suri, too, admits that hot scenes would be a part of ‘Murder 2’. “Murder was five years ago. Back then adultery and a wife stealing away to meet her lover was a big thing.
People were turned on by Emraan’s 17-18 smooches and Mallika Sherawat’s bare back. Times have changed. It takes a lot to shock and titillate the audience. And we’re doing just that,” he said.
Jacqueline, on her part, is all too willing to transform into a sex diva from her earlier good girl image. She said, ‘My earlier films were for small boys. I want Murder 2 to be for the big boys’.
Revealing more about the film, Suri says, “It’s a thriller exploring the world of prostitutes, transvestites, pimps and gigolos. It is not a film for the young. Jacqueline will be going far ahead of anything seen so far in terms of the erotic content.
Though Murder 2 is a sequel to Murder it has no connection with the earlier film. I’ve taken up the challenge of carrying a franchise from Bhatt Saab’s Vishesh Films forward. I made Raaz 2, remember?”

43: After John and Hrithik, Aamir Khan is the next bad guy in ‘Dhoom 3′

Be it the sexy biker John Abraham in ‘Dhoom’ or the mesmerizing eyed thief Hrihtik Roshan in ‘Dhoom2’, the villains have always over powered the good guys Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali (Uday Chopra). So, what could be better choice for Yash Raj Films’ to have Aamir Khan as the villain in their ‘Dhoom 3’?
Yes, it is official now that perfectionist Khan is donning the cap of the bad guy for Aditya Chopra in ‘Dhoom 3’. Confirming the news, Aamir said, “I have recently signed Dhoom 3. I liked the script very much. When I had watched Dhoom, I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the music and the whole attitude. It’s a very fun film. I really liked it. I never thought I would fit in this kind of film.”
“When I heard the story from Victor, I really enjoyed it. Very well-written script, very enjoyable. It’s a great franchise and I am happy to be part of it. I am also looking forward to work with Abhishek and Uday,” Aamir said adding, “It’s true that for the first time I’m doing a negative role, an anti-hero in the mainstream film. I liked my role and all the characters are very well-written. Actually, in between I did another negative role in an offbeat film 1947 Earth.”
This would be the star’s third Yash Raj film after Parampara and Fanaa. The actress opposite the star is yet to be finalized.
Yash Chopra, too, expressed his joy in having Aamir on board. He said, “It’s a great pleasure to have Aamir working with our banner. I am terribly excited with what an actor like Aamir can bring to the Dhoom franchise with his unique star power and level of performance. Adi and Victor have worked over a year to bring out, what I can now confidently say, is possibly one of the best scripts coming out of our production house.”

Justin Bieber New Movie Never Say Never Is going Awesome

Just stay focused, everyone. And you’ll accomplish anything.
So states Justin Bieber at the outset of the following new trailer for “Never Say Never,” the wildly-anticipated biopic about the teen icon set to his theaters next month. Yes, next month!
“I knew he could play the drums; I never knew he could sing,” a friend says in the clip, while another adds: “He never had any lessons or anything.”
And yet this shaggy-haired sensation has sold out Madison Square Garden, a feat that few singers on the planet can accomplish. He just believed, readers. You can, too…
